Home education provides relational and situational storms in which parents demonstrate their faith. Learn how to be anchored in Christ so you can withstand whatever comes your way and lead your children to do the same.
One of the greatest needs of wives and children is to have a husband or father who knows how to be relational. Norm explains what it means to be relational and then gives practical suggestions for how to improve. Your wife and children will love it!
Everyone knows they ought to love others, but not everyone knows how. In this message, Norm gives practical insight into one of the most challenging goals of families--loving relationships. Marriages and parent/child relationships may be healed and strengthened as a result of these truths.
Did you know it's possible to hear but not hear and see but not see? Jesus told his disciples that if they didn't learn this lesson, they couldn't understand all of his teaching. If parents know how to train their children how to listen, they will have given them the foundation for a life of learning.
One of the dangers in parenting is to overlook the importance of maintaining the heart direction of your child. What does that mean? Why is the child's heart so important? How does a parent care for a child's heart?

Most everyone feels a need to perform, cope with life's problems, and be happy. If parents understand how to lead their children to God's power for these things, their children wouldn't be as vulnerable and susceptible to the ways and vices offered by the world. This equips parents to lead their children past the destructive pitfalls of the world into a faith in God. constant battle is taking place for our time: our work, church, ministry, home school, friends, family, and our relationship with God all demand our attention.
When a child doesn't know who is, who he belongs to, or where his power source lies, he is left searching for someone to imitate. Is it dating? Courtship? Or betrothal? Is there a formula for finding a partner for life? In this workshop, you'll discover practical insights from God's Word about young people building relationships that glorify Jesus Christ.
There's nothing more destructive to relationship with God and others than selfishness. When a person professing to be a Christian makes life about himself, the gospel is made empty, others are alienated and offended, and most of all, his relationship with God suffers. Norm's messages from Paul's letter to the Philippians will serve as a reality check as you are encouraged and coached to live in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ, living a life that is all about Him
What does it mean to have a "calling"? Most men think of their vocation as their "calling", but there are other callings in life that are more important. Faithfulness is each calling leads to preparation for the next calling in life. If fathers don't understand their callings and how to teach their children about their callings in life, the next generation won't be prepared for them. If we can define our callings, then we can rise to the call of God in our lives.
Like the scouts who led the wagon trains west, husband/fathers lead the way for their family. Knowing the destination, charting the course, and guiding to food and water supplies was the responsibility of the scout. Do you know what you want your child to be when he becomes an adult? Do you know how to get there? Do you know where the spiritual water holes are? Come and find out! (This message can also be adapted to the needs of support group leaders as a leadership address.)
