After numerous requests, we have made available a copy of our daughter’s high school portfolio including: * Her full four year reading list – use it as a blueprint for your own reading list. * Year by year curriculum, classes, internships, mission trips and travel. * A description of each of her internships and jobs – use our list to brainstorm with your own teen. * All her community service – see the possibilities and how we used her volunteer activities in a systematic way to prepare her for internships. * The letter we used with great success to request letters of recommendation. Start collecting these in their Freshman Year! * Actual examples of some of her letters of recommendation. This will help you know what types of things the colleges want to see from Home School Graduates. * See how we calculate G.P.A., and how we assign credit hours for her real-life experience. * Learn how to make a transcript when your child has done some cottage schooling, some co-ops, some internships and some homeschooling. Many folks have used this resource to get ideas for their high school students. You can also use it as a template of sorts for your own transcripts and college applications. Our portfolio file has been used by many parents who have reluctant teens to say, “Look at all these amazing jobs, volunteer activities and travel this homeschool girl got to do.”
