Being with your siblings 24/7 is not always an easy task. Felicia (homeschooled k-12th) has two younger siblings and understands this fully. Homeschool kids have a unique sibling dilemma: you can’t escape them! You can never change groups in the event of a group project and you get tattled on for reading in the bathroom when you should be doing school… But, sibling overdose is not necessarily negative. Actually, it can be a blessing. Felicia candidly shares her sibling experience, how they went from tolerating each other to becoming dear friends, and why she is thankful for the bonding experience of homeschooling.
The first commandment states “Thou shalt have no other gods before me.” Often we overlook this commandment and do not realize how easily we as Christians are also susceptible of allowing idols into our life. Idols can range from friends and hobbies to popularity and materialism. In a way that teenagers can relate, Felicia shares her struggles with idols in her life and how she’s learned to deal with them and surrender her life and dreams to the Lord.
Parents naturally wonder, “How do home schoolers turn out? Are they socially awkward? Are they ready to face the real world?” Felicia will address the resounding questions of socialization, peer pressure, and how home schooling prepared her for life as an adult. She’ll also address what your children will remember from their early years and the importance of parents pouring into their children. Through this presentation you will learn how home schooling impacts a child’s life and how parents leave a legacy which will impact future generations.
The world has trampled purity and young women today feel a resounding pressure to give in to the world’s standards. The Lord calls us as His daughters to be set-apart and practice not just physical purity but a purity that penetrates the depths of our hearts. By sharing her life experiences on the true meaning of beauty, modesty, and courtship, Felicia imparts a message that both encourages and challenges young women to stand resolute against the cultural current.
