Bobbi started writing when she was eight years old. Her early works included short stories about Freckles, her three legged dog, and swimming in the icy creek down the road from her home in Owego, N.Y. Much of her writing still draws on real life experiences. Friends and family frequently note similarities in experiences shared by them and those of her fictional characters. Bobbi is a former senior staff writer for a Washington, D.C. area newspaper and currently writes a monthly book review column for About Families Publications. Her short stories appear in the Chicken Soup for the Soul and Cup of Comfort Anthologies. Her first book for young readers, Storee Wryter Gets a Dog, pulblished by Tate Publishing is now available in print and ebook form. She is currently refining her first novel length book, a creative nonfiction work based on her seven years as an in-home caregiver for a critically ill family member. Bobbi is a long time member of Pennwriters, a national writers organization with over 500 members, serving two years as Pennwriters Annual Writing Contest Chair. She is currently on the Pennwriters Board of Directors as the Area 7 Representative, a position she had held for nine years. In 2010 she was proud to be named a Pennwriters Meritorious Service Award nominee. She is a frequent speaker at writing conferences and serves as judge for the annual Mom's Choice and Benjamin Franklin Book Awards.
